Borovets
Bulgaria's oldest ski resort, an hour and a half above Sofia, with long tree-lined runs and prices that make a week genuinely affordable.
Terrain
Runs descend through dense pine from a high ridge down to the village, mostly blues with a few testing reds and blacks off the top. Snowmaking covers the main pistes, and the best tree skiing appears after a dump.
